Funding opportunities vary by organization, some offer full support to Oshki-Wenjack students, such as awards and bursaries, while other organizations offer student loans that have to be paid back. Look over the opportunities below to figure out what works best for you and your program.
Funding from First Nations Organizations
Many First Nations organizations and councils provide funding for learners who want to get a post-secondary education. Below are a few First Nations organizations that offer funding for our learners.
The Rama First Nation will collect a 1.9% share of the gross revenues generated by Casino Rama. The first year of the deal is expected to pay out approximately $8.8 million. The Rama First Nation will also receive targeted lump sum payments for projects. Funding from First Nations Organizations. Casino Rama: Awards For Excellence Program (Undergraduates) Available in January. First Nations Casinos. Gaming on First Nation reserves is an important opportunity to stimulate economic development, create jobs, and provide funding for infrastructure and social programs. There are 17 First Nation casinos. Alberta has five, British Columbia one, Manitoba two, Ontario three and Saskatchewan six.
You may ask your First Nation or Employer for information on financial support if you do not fall into any of these categories or contact the Student Liaison Officer to explore other options. Below is a list of some frequently used funding agencies.

The Ontario Student Assistance Program (OSAP) offers funding to Ontario students attending post-secondary programs. Students attending summer semesters should be aware of payment release dates.
